Club Colours:   Purple & Gold

Newport teams have been wearing the Purple & Gold since March 1970, when the Junior Hurlers first donned the colours in the championship against Borrisokane. It was a winning debut for the new colours which had replaced the old green jerseys with white trim.

The Club jerseys bore a sponsor's name for the first time when a new set with the Mulcair Credit Union logo was worn for the senior hurling championship game against Roscrea in 1993.

A club crest was adopted in 2003, bearing the motto "Crógacht sa Choimhlint" - Courage in the Contest
