The first hundred years of the GAA in the parish of Newport were documented by Michael Collins and Denis Floyd in a 527 page (A5) hardback book entitled "By The Mulcaire Banks" published in 1986, Denis Floyd updated the history to 2018 and published a 672 page (A4) tome which included a reproduction of the original 1886-1986 volume. This was launched by GAA President, John Horan, in March 2019. Copies of the updated History are available from any member of Newport GAA Committee. |
