Sraith Iomána An Chontae: Well done to our hurlers who had a good win in their final group match in the County Hurling League v Ballinahinch in Shalee on Sunday on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-12.

Faoi 15’s: We would like to wish our Under 15A Footballers the very best of luck in their North Semi-Final v Ballina in Lacken Park this Thursday evening @ 7:00 PM. Our Under 15D Footballers were beaten in their County Championship match by Carrick Davins by 5-04 to 3-03. They are playing JK Brackens in their next match on Saturday in Lacken Park @ 5:00 PM.

Faoi 13’s: The Under 13 Group 'A' Football team played their County Semi-Final v Aherlow in Annacarty on Monday evening of this week. They registered a comfortable 4-11 to 0-6 victory and now go on to play Clonmel Commercials in the county final on Sunday evening in Dundrum at 7.15pm. Best of luck to players and mentors.

Sraith Iomána An Chontae: We would like to wish our hurlers the very best of luck in their final group match in the County Hurling League v Ballinahinch in Shalee on Sunday @ 12:00 noon.

Iomáint Sóisir: Hard luck to our Junior B Hurlers who lost out to Ballina in their final group match in the Junior League on a score line of 2-22 to 2-19. They finished 2nd in their group overall and have qualified for the semi-finals.

Faoi 19’s: We would like to wish our Under 19B Hurlers the best of luck in their match v Burgess this Wednesday evening in Kilcolman @ 7:00 PM.

Faoi 15’s: Our Under 15 D Footballers have two matches in the County Championship this week. They play JK Brackens on Thursday evening @ 6:30 PM in Lacken Park and Carrick Davin’s in Carrick Park on Saturday @ 4:30 PM.

Faoi 13’s: Congratulations to the Under 13 Group A Football team who won the North Final v Nenagh Eire Óg on a score line of 2-10 to 3-02. Thanks to Eire Óg for a great game played in a sporting manner and gave great entertainment to the crowd that attended. The team now progress to a county semi- final v Aherlow on which we are waiting for conformation of when the match will be played.

Iomáint Sóisir: We would like to wish our Junior B Hurlers the best of luck in their final group match v Ballina on this Friday in Lacken Park @ 7:15 PM.

Faoi 15’s: Hard luck to our Under 15A Footballers who were very unlucky to lose out to Kilruane MacDonagh’s in their North championship match in Cloughjordan last Thursday evening on a scoreline of 4-07 to 3-07. The Group D Team are due to play Eire Og Annacarty in the County Championship this Thursday evening in Annacarty @ 6:30 PM.

Feile Peil na nÓg: Well, done to both of our Under 15 Football Teams who took part in the Feile Peil na nÓg competition last weekend. The Division 3 Team travelled to Templetuohy where they lost their two opening games v played Ballingarry and Moyne / Templetuohy before recording a win in their final game v Moneygall / Clonakenny. The Division 8 team travelled to Annacarty where they drew their opening game v Carrick Davins and lost their other games v Thurles Gaels & Eire Og Annacarty.

Faoi 13’s: Well, done to or Under 13 Group A Football team who won their semi-final v Toomevara in a well contested and sporting game between two very good and evenly matched teams. We would like to wish our Group A Team the best of luck in the North Final v Nenagh this Thursday evening @ 6:45 in Kilcolman. Hard luck to our Group D Team who put in a great performance v Roscrea but unfortunately did not win on the night. We would like to wish Roscrea the best of luck in their Final.

Faoi 11’s: The Under 11’s had a busy Saturday morning with teams travelling to Cloughjordan and Portroe to play Kilruane MacDonaghs and Portroe in hurling blitzes. The players put in fantastic performances in all their games. We would like to thank the parents for bringing their children to the games and both Kilruane MacDonagh’s & Portroe GAA Clubs for hosting. 

Faoi 9’s: The Under 9’s travelled to Clarinbridge GAA Club on Saturday for their U9 Go Games Festival of Hurling.  We had 3 teams that played games against Clarinbridge,  Kilmaley GAA,  Kilmacud Crokes GAA Club, Ardrahan GAA,  Blackrock GAA, Ballindereen GAA and  Ballygar GAA Club.  They had a great day with loads of hurling and fun.  Thanks to Clarinbridge Juvenile Committee for the invite and for an excellently run event and their incredible hospitality on the day.  Thanks to all the parents, players and coaches for travelling and representing the club so well and to O’Malley Coaches for getting us there safely.  The summer of hurling has started, lots more to follow.

Faoi 7’s: The Under 7’s travelled to Dr Morris Park Thurles on Saturday morning for their first county football blitz of the year. We had 2 teams. We played Durlas Óg, Upperchurch and JK Brackens. The children really enjoyed their morning's football and are looking forward to a long summer of both hurling & football. We would like to thank all the parents who took the time to bring their children to Thurles and to the Tipperary GDA’s for organising the blitz.

Scór na nÓg : Well done to our Scor  na nÓg Quiz team  of Dara & Ailin Kennedy, Darragh Gavin & Damien O’Brien who came 4th in the All Ireland Final in The INEC in Killarney on Sunday. A special word of thanks to Siobhan Kennedy for all the time & work she put into getting the team ready for the final.

Sraith Iomána An Chontae:  We would like to wish our hurlers the best of luck in Round 5 of The County Hurling League v Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams in Dundrum on Sunday @ 12:00 noon.

Iomáint Sóisir: Well, done to our Junior B Hurlers who recorded a good win over Burgess in their League match last Friday evening in Lacken Park on a score line of 0-22 to 0-12. They have now qualified for the knockout stages of the competition with one group match still to play v Ballina. 

Faoi 19’s: Hard luck to our Under 19B footballers who were beaten in the North Final by Eire Óg Nenagh on Saturday evening on a score line of 4-06 to 2-10.

Faoi 15’s: Hard luck to our Under 15A Footballers who were beaten by Moneygall in their North Championship match last Thursday evening on a scoreline of 4-07 to2-09.  This week the Group A Team travel to Cloughjordan to play Kilruane MacDonagh’s while the Group D Team have a home game v Newcastle. Both matches are on Thursday evening with 6:30PM starts.

Féile Peil na nÓg: We would like to wish both of our Under 15 Football Teams playing in Peil na nÓg the best of luck this weekend. Our Division 3 Team will be playing their two group matches v Cappawhite Gaels and Moneygall / Clonakenny in Lacken Park. The Division 8 team play their three Group matches v Annacarty / Donohill, Thurles Gaels and Carrick Davins in Annacarty.  The top two team in each group progress to the semi finals on Saturday afternoon with the semi-final winners playing in the finals in Dr Morris Park on Sunday.

Faoi 13’s: Our Group A Football team play their North semi-final v Toomevara on this Tuesday evening. Our Group D Team travel to Roscrea to play their semi-final @ 6:30 this Wednesday evening.

Scór na nÓg : We would like to wish our Scór Quiz Team of Dara & Ailin Kennedy, Darragh Gavin & Damien O’Brien the very best of luck in the All Ireland Final in The INEC in Killarney on Sunday.

Faoi 19’s: Well, done to our Under 19B footballers who won their North Semi Final clash v Portroe last Wednesday evening on a score line of 2-12 to 0-08.

Faoi 15’s: Well, done to our Under 15 Group D footballers who won their county championship match v Rockwell / Rosegreen last Wednesday evening in Lacken Park on a score line of 7-05 to 2-04. The Group A Team are playing Moneygall in Lacken Park @ 6:30 PM this Thursday evening.

Feil na nGael: Well done to both of our Under 15 teams that took part in the  Feile na nGael Hurling competition last weekend. The Division 3 team recorded three victories in their Group matches in Moneygall  v Lorrha Rovers, Moyle Rovers & Moneygall. They were very unlucky to lose out to Roscrea in their semi-final on a scoreline of 2-02 to 1-03. The Division 8 team won their three group matches v JK Brackens, Carrick Davins & Emly in Templemore. They then travelled to Annacarthy to play Kilruane MacDonaghs in their semi-final where they eventually won out in a match that could have gone either way on a scoreline 1-06 to 1-03. They played Eire Óg Annacarthy in the Division 8 Final in Dr Morris Park on Easter Monday, but unfortunately were on the losing side. We would like to thank the organisers of this fantastic competition. The players all enjoyed a great weekend of hurling. We would also like to thank our host clubs JK Brackens, Moneygall and Annacarthy for having their pitches in great condition for our matches and the referees who gave up their weekend to referee the games.

Faoi 13’s: Our Under 13 Group A football team play their North Quarter Final at home v Kilruane on this Tuesday evening. 

Faoi 11’s: Our three Under 11 teams had their first day out today in the Under 11 Football Go Games last Saturday. Our Purple 1 and Gold teams played Nenagh and Purple 2 played Ballinahinch. Skill, determination, and unbelievable character were present in all three matches. They represented the club with pride, and they can all look forward to a long summer full of games

Comhgairdeas: Congratulations to Cillian Collins and Darragh Mackey who both played for the Tipperary Under 15 Hurlers last Thursday v Waterford and Conor Mc Loughlin and Kevin Fitzpatrick who played with the Tipperary Under 14 Hurlers v Waterford on Thursday also. Hard luck to Diarmuid O’ Riordan who played with the Tipperary Under 20 footballers who were beaten by Clare in the Munster Championship last Monday evening.

Faoi 19’s: Well, done to our Under 19B footballers who had a good win in very difficult conditions for both teams v Silvermines in their North Championship quarter final last Wednesday evening on a score line of 2-07 to 0-04. We would like to wish them the best of luck in the semi-final v Portroe this Wednesday evening @ 6:30 PM in Portroe.

Faoi 15’s: Well, done to our Under 15 Group D footballers who made it three wins in a row in their county championship match v Emly last Wednesday evening in Lacken Park on a score line of 3-04 to 1-05. They play Rockwell / Rosegreen in round 4 this Wednesday evening in Lacken Park @ 6:30 PM.  Hard luck to our Under 15 A footballers who battled hard against a good Nenagh team in the championship match on Wednesday evening before losing out by 3-09 to 0-04. Their next game v Moneygall is due to be played on Wednesday April 21st.

Feil na nGael: We would like to wish both of our Under 15 Hurling Teams the best of luck in the Feile na Gael Hurling competition this weekend. Faoi 15’s: Well done to our Under 15 Group D footballers who maintained their 100 % record in the county championship in a very exciting and close match v Kilruane MacDonaghs last Wednesday evening in Lacken Park. They had to dig deep to hold out for a win by a single point on a scoreline of 4-10 to 5-05. Hard luck to our Under 15 A footballers who put in a great performance v Ballina last Thursday evening but lost out by a single point on a scoreline 2-05 to 1-07. Both teams have matches this Wednesday evening with the Group A team welcome Nenagh Eire Óg to Lacken Park @ 6:30PM  and our Group D team travel to Emly for a 6:15 PM start.

Club Sláintiúil: A big thank you to the Healthy Club Committee for organising the substance abuse talk by Ciaran Carey last Friday evening in the St Marys School. Thanks also to Ciaran for giving a very informative presentation which no doubt will be a huge benefit to the children that attended. We would also like to thank St Marys School for the use of their facilities for this event.

Faoi 17’s: Our Under 17 A Footballers played their final two games in the North / Mid Football League last weekend. They lost out to Ballina on Friday evening on a score line of 6-03 to 2-05. They played their final game in the league v Morcarkey / Borris on Sunday but unfortunately lost out by 2-10 to 1-08.

Faoi 15’s: Well done to our Under 15 Group D footballers who won their opening game in the county championship v Thurles Gales on Thursday evening on a scoreline of 5-07 to 2-08. They played Kilruane in their second game in the championship on Tuesday evening. Please check our Facebook page for the result of this match as it was not available at the time of going to press. We would like to wish our Under 15 A team the best of luck in their opening game of the North Championship away to Ballina this Wednesday evening @ 6:30 PM.

Faoi 13’s:  Our Under 13 Group A & D footballers played Toomevara on Saturday in the North Football Championship with a win for Newport in the Group A match & Toomevara in the Group D match. Our Group B team travelled to Dolla to play the Silvermines on Tuesday evening. Please check our Facebook page for the result of this match as it was not available at the time of going to press.

Club Sláintiúil: The club have asked Ciarán Carey to make a presentation on Addiction and Mental Health issues on this Friday April 1st from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM in St. Mary’s Secondary School Hall to all teenagers aged 13 to 17 as part of our Healthy Club Programme. We feel Ciarán has much to offer in the way of advice and support that will be of benefit to our young people in the years ahead. This presentation is open to all teenagers from local clubs and schools. Ciarán will be making a presentation for adults on April 22nd.

Sraith Iomána An Chontae: Well done to our hurlers who got their County Hurling League off to a great start with a win over Sean Treacys on a score line of 2-18 to 1-17 in a well contested match in Lacken Park on St. Patrick’s Day.

Faoi 17’s: We would like to wish our Under 17 footballers the best of luck in their second game of the North / Mid Football League away to Ballina on Friday @ 5:45 PM.

Faoi 15’s: We would like to wish our Under 15 Group D footballers the best of luck in their opening game in the county championship v Thurles Gales on Thursday evening @ 5:30 PM in Thurles.

Faoi 13’s:  Hard luck to our Under 13 A footballers who lost to Nenagh in their second match in the North Championship on a score line of Nenagh 3-08 to Newport’s 4-04. All three teams have matches this weekend with our Group A & D teams playing Toomevara in Lacken Park on Saturday with the first match starting @ 2:00 PM. Our Group B team travel to Dolla to play the Silvermines on Sunday @ 2:00 PM.

Oíche na nGradam: The Juvenile Club will hold their presentation night this Sunday evening March 27th @ 6:00 PM in the Community Centre. Pádraic Maher, 3 times All-Ireland winner, 5 Munster Titles and 6 time All Star will be presenting medals to all our age groups from Under 5’s to 17’s. All are welcome.

The Group A Team is due to play Nenagh in Lacken Park on Friday @ 2:00 PM. The Group B team start their championship with a home game v Borrisokane on Saturday @ 2:00 PM. The Group D have a bye this week.

Scor Na nÓg:  Well done to all our representatives who took part in The County Final of Scor Na nÓg in Halla Na Féile, Cashel on Sunday. Tom McCabe in Recitation. Damien O Brien, Ailín Kennedy, Leah Wixted and Martin McCabe in the Music Group.  Comhbhrón: CLG Tulach Sheasta extends sympathy to the Clifford family on the recent death of Paddy, who was a keen follower of many sports and followed the fortunes of his son and grandson on the sports fields over many years up to 2021.  He was involved with several Newport underage teams in the 1980's - 90's, culminating in his role as selector with the team which won the 1995 county minor football title. Paddy's grandfather, William Clifford, served as Chairman of Limerick Co Board, Chairman of Munster Council and GAA President. Ar dheis Dé go raibh anam uasal Paddy.
