Faoi 17’s: Hard luck to our Under 17A Footballers who lost out to Dúrlas Óg in their county semi-final match in Lacken Park on Saturday after a massive effort by all the players. This group of players have had a great year, reaching a North B Hurling Final and winning the North A Football Final against all the odds v Ballina. They put in great performances v Kilsheelan-Kilcash in their county quarter final and again v Dúrlas Óg on Saturday. The final score was Newport 2-03 to Durlas Óg 1-08. We would like to thank Podge Hogan and his coaches and selectors for all the time and effort they put in with this team throughout the year. Nollaig Shona: We would like to wish all our members and supporters a very happy and safe Christmas and every good wish for 2022. We take this opportunity to thank all our committee members, managers, coaches, mentors, and players for the time and work they put in throughout the year in dealing with all the challenges that Covid presented. We thank the parents who took the time to take their children to training and matches. Scór: Congratulations to the Newport GAA Novelty who made it two All Irelands in a row this weekend with a great win in the All Ireland Scór Novelty Act competition held in the Dome, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo on Saturday. The cast of Cathriona O’Brien, Paraic Kennedy, John Tuohey, Lily O’Grady, Carol O’Hora, Tom McCabe and Padraig Kennedy in their sketch named ‘ Lisdoonvarna Here We Come’ written by Tom McCabe and produced by Mary Browne. We would also like to congratulate Siobhan Egan who gave an outstanding performance in the Solo Singing competition singing ‘Gortnamona’ We would like to thank the huge number of supporters that travelled to Mayo to support both acts. We would also like to congratulate our fellow Tipp representatives who also won All Irelands at the weekend with Noel Joyce from JK Brackens winning the Recitation competition and Newcastle winning the Figure Dancing competition. We would like to thank the players, James Nolan & his management team for all the work they put it at training for this competition. All are welcome. Comhgairdeas: Congratulations to our six Newport players Conor McLoughlin, Harry Noone, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Charlie Tobin, Luke McIntyre and Cormac Shanahan who made the 26 man squad of the U13 North Tipp hurling team. Can You Help? The ethos of the GAA is based on volunteerism and community involvement. CLG Tulach Sheasta has been blessed with the contribution of its volunteers over many decades. On and off the field, involvement in the GAA has made a significant contribution to local social and community life. If you are not already involved in CLG Tulach Sheasta, we are asking for a weekly one-hour commitment to help grow the club as a key focal point of the community. We respectfully ask that you consider a role that you might play in the club. Tasks are many and varied, but they can be tailored to suit constraints on time and availability. Both acts will represent Tipperary in the All Ireland Final of Scór Sinsir 2020 to be held in The Dome, Claremorris, Co. Mayo on November 20th. Faoi 19’s: We would like to wish our Under 19 footballers the very best of luck in their county 'B' semi-final v Upperchurch-Drombane in Dolla on Sunday @ 2:00 PM. Faoi 14’s: Well done to our Under 14 'A' hurlers who drew a very exciting game v Ballina in the North Plate competition on a scoreline of Newport 1-13 Ballina 2-10. Faoi 12’s: We would like to wish our two under 12 teams playing matches in the North Under 12 Hurling Plate competition in Lacken Park on Saturday the very best of luck. Our group B team play Moneygall @ 3:00PM & the Group D team Kilruane MacDonaghs @ 4:00 PM. Féile Peile Micheál Ò’hÓgáin: The club's under 13 players were out in force on Saturday in The Michael Hogan Festival of Football with two teams representing the club on the day. Our first team played their games in Moyne-Templetuohy. They played Silvermines, Moycarkey-Borris & Nenagh in their Group matches and lost out at the semi-final stage to Toomevara by a point after extra time. Our 2nd team travelled to Bansha and played their group games v Galtee Rovers, Carrick Davins & Loughmore-Castleliney. They lost their semi-final to Cahir by a point. We would like to thank both Moyne-Templetuohy and Galtee Rovers for hosting the games and the parents for bringing their children to the matches. Peil Sóisir: Hard luck to our Junior Footballers who were beaten by Portroe in the first round of the North Junior A Football championship on Saturday by 4-13 to 3-09. Faoi 14’s: Hard luck to our Under 14 A hurlers who lost their opening game v Borrisoleigh in The North Plate competition on a scoreline of 1-09 to 1-07. Faoi 12’s: Well done to our Under 12 A Hurling team who won their second match in the North Hurling Plate competition v Borrisoleigh. They will now play the winners of Group 2 in the final. Hard luck to our Group B team who were beaten by Ballinahinch in their game on Saturday.
