This fantastic publication would be a great Christmas present and will be of enormous interest to anybody who has followed GAA activities in the parish of Newport, as it tells the story of the association from the very beginning right up to date, records the facts, figures and statistics of all the games, recalls some of the memories of players and mentors and includes photos of adult and juvenile teams right up to 2018. Scór: Well done to our participants in The County Scór na nÓg finals held in Holycross last Sunday. The club was represented in Instrumental Music by Eve Berry, Martin McCabe, Stephen McCormack, Kevin & Damien O’Brien. The Novelty Act cast included Clara & Aiobhinn Collins, Martin, Brian & Tom McCabe and Damien O’Brien. The Quiz Team of Dara Kennedy, Stephen McCormack, Kevin & Damien O’Brien finished second in their competition. Primary Schools County GAA Quiz : Well done to the Boys National School team of Harry Lee, Dara McGrath, Jack Powell & Cathal Ryan who took part in the county final of the GAA National Schools competition last Sunday evening in Thurles. Condolences: The club would like to extend deepest sympathies to the Murray family, formerly of Cooleen, Birdhill and Cork Road, Newport, on the recent passing of John Murray (RIP) in Australia.
