Under 21 Hurling:  In the quarter final of the North Under 21 Championship, Newport  are drawn to play Ballinahinch/Templederry. That match takes place this Saturday 27th October in Dolla with a 12.30 throw in. Best of luck to the team and management.  Please support the lads if you can.

Under 8 Hurling:  Congratulations to our Under 8 hurlers on winning the Jack Ryan Tournament in Roscrea on Saturday. Well done to the team and management, you’ve made your coaches and parents very proud. Keep up the hard work.

Lacken Park Development:  Our Development Officer James Flanagan has overseen the completion of our Hurling Wall and Astroturf Development this week. It will be a huge benefit to the Club and Community of Newport  going forward. The Club would like to thank Senator Kieran O’Donnell and Michael Lowry TD for their support and encouragement to proceed with this development. Thanks also to the Committee and members of C.L.G. Tulach Sheasta. Finally, like so many Clubs throughout the Country, we are so grateful for the Sports Capital Grant Funding provided by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport because without their funding we could not have completed this Development.

Evan Jones Memorial 5km Fun Run/Walk:  Please support Paddy, Marisa, Ben and Team Evan Jones on Bank Holiday Monday 29th of October for the Evan Jones Memorial 5km. With plenty of entertainment, special guests and fantastic prizes it promises to be a fun day for all the family to raise money for CMRF Crumlin and national ambulance service BUMBLEance. Prizes for the best Halloween costumes on the day. Registration starts at 11am with the run/walk kicking off at 12pm.

Sympathy: Sympathy is extended to the McEvoy and Nolan families on the death of Senan McEvoy of Killaloe and formerly of Birdhill. Senan wore the Newport jersey in Under 21 and Junior Football in the early 1970's.
