Intermediate Hurling: Newport Intermediate Hurlers lost to Kilsheelan-Kilcash in Round 2 of the County Championship last Sunday on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-14. They now play Golden-Kilfeacle in Round 3 in a must-win game to qualify to the next stages of the county championship.

Junior Hurling: Our Juniors beat Nenagh in the 2nd Round of the North League last Friday in Newport on a scoreline of Newport 2-22 Nenagh 1-12. Young guns Daniel Carew, Jordan Young and Michael Quigley ran the show in what has been a very good start for the Junior Hurlers this year.

U10 Football: Last Thursday, Newport U10's played the first round of the community games Gaelic Football competition in Newport against Roscrea.   Newport started very strongly and played some excellent football in the first half. Roscrea put up a strong effort in the second half but Newport kept up the pace of the first half and won the game well in the end.  Excellent performances all round and we look forward to meeting Templemore in the next round.  Well done to Roscrea for travelling to Newport and with a young team putting in a fighting performance.

Minor Football: Newport will play Moneygall/Clonakenny in the North Football final on  this Wednesday night in Toomevara at 7pm.

Congratulations:  It was a proud moment for the club as Cian Flanagan lined out with the Tipperary minors in their game against the Banner last Wednesday. Cian had a great game at wing back and played his part in their victory.
