All Ireland Champions
It was an extremely proud day for Newport GAA Club as Cian Flanagan and Darragh Carroll lined out on opposing sides in Croke Park in the All Ireland Minor Hurling Final on Sunday last. Well done to Cian Flanagan who is the first Newport player since Sean O' Brien in 2007 to win an All Ireland Minor Hurling Medal. What a day for Tipperary and well done to both Minor and Senior teams and management from all in Newport GAA Club. Hard luck to Darragh Carroll and Limerick who just came up short on the day but no doubt we will be seeing these two on the big stage in the future again. As Liam Cahill said in his speech at the homecoming, it's through the efforts at club level that these players are being brought up to a standard to win All Irelands with Tipperary, so Newport can be proud of contributing to this. Well done all.

Intermediate Hurling

With the All Ireland Final finished, club matches now take priority and Newport Intermediates will play Shannon Rovers in the North Semi Final in Toomevara this Saturday evening at 6pm.

Junior Hurling

Well done to the Junior Hurlers who defeated Silvermines in the North Semi Final on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-08.

Under 8
The U8's had a busy week with a hurling blitz in Toomevara  on Tuesday night . They played in a North Tipp Football blitz in Kildangan on Thursday evening. They played 3 matches against Kildangan, Nenagh and Portroe. Well done all - they played really great.
