Under 14: Newport U14's got their hurling campaign off to a great start with a 3-7 to 1-10 win over Burgess on Wednesday evening. There were some brilliant individual displays on the night with goalkeeper Stephen Coffey particularly impressive. The three goal scorers were Rory O'Connor, John Ryan and Colm O'Malley. Well done to all involved. They will play Lorrha in the next round on Wednesday June 1st.

Under 12: Newport U12 B's played Borrisokane in the first round of the championship. They played well and came away with a win. The Newport Dynamos played Burgess in the first round of the U12 D Championship on Friday night last. After a steady performance Newport won the game 2.1 to 1.3. Well done to both teams.

James O’ Rourke Tournament: The James O'Rourke Memorial Tournament was held on Sunday last May 29th in glorious sunshine in Lacken Park. U12 Footballers from Moycullen in Galway, Kilfenora  Co. Clare , Ahane, Cappamore, Cappawhite, Burgess and 2 teams from Newport took part in the Cup and Shield Tournament. Moycullen in Galway were winners of the Cup and Cappawhite won the Shield . Thanks to Paudge Tobin and Jimmy Jo for refereeing the games. A special thanks to all the clubs who travelled from near and far to participate. Thanks also to all who helped in the running of this very enjoyable and successful event.

County Football: Well done to Diarmuid O'Riordan who was selected on the Tipperary Primary Schools Football team. Diarmuid played during half time of the Senior Football Match Tipperary v Waterford in Dungarvan on Sunday last. Congratulations also to Odran Floyd and Christy Connors who were members of the Tipperary Junior Football panel who beat Waterford after extra time.

Best Wishes: The club would like to wish all the best to members who are sitting Junior and Leaving Cert Examinations over the next two weeks.

Condolences: The club sends its condolences to the O’Brien and O’Sullivan families on their recent bereavement.
