U12 Football:
Both the A's and D's played Inane Rovers in the football Championship last weekend in tough conditions. After 2 good physical contests, unfortunately, we were beaten in both games. Well done to all who played especially our five U10's who played on the day.

Minor Football: Our Minor Footballers had their first taste of Championship action last Monday night away to Kildangan. In a hard fought game they scored three late points to emerge victorious by 0-16 to 2-8. They played some excellent football at times but were guilty of sloppy play on too many occasions.
T
hey will now play Moneygall/Clonakenny on Wednesday March 30th at 6pm in Lacken Park, Newport. All support would be appreciated.

Sympathy
The club extends sympathy to the Tully family of Birdhill on the recent death of Patsy Tully. Patsy played with Newport teams in the late 1950's and through the sixties. He was a member of the minor hurling team which reached the North Final in 1961. He played on the day that Newport wore the Purple & Gold for the first time, a junior hurling game against Borrisokane in 1970, before transferring to Ballina where he was working.
