Junior Hurling: Our Junior Hurlers drew with Moneygall in the last round of the North League last Wednesday evening. Final Score: Newport 0-15 Moneygall 1-12.

Under 14: Newport will play Burgess in the first round of the U14 Hurling Championship on Wednesday May 25th in Lacken Park. Also, the James O'Rourke Tournament will be played on Sunday May 29th in Lacken Park. There will be eight teams taking part, 2 teams from Newport, Moycullen (Galway), Kilfenora (Clare), Burgess, Ahane, Cappamore, and Cappawhite. Throw in is at 2pm.

Tipp Match: The Juvenile Club ran a bus to the Tipperary V Cork game on Sunday last. The kids enjoyed the trip immensely and it is fair to say that the Tipp-Cork rivalry has been carried through to the younger generation. Well done to Pa Ryan who was part of the Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Panel who had an impressive 12 point win over Cork.

Under 8: Newport had two teams participating in the U8 County Hurling Blitz in Dr. Morris Park, Thurles on Saturday last. They played teams from Killenaule, Upperchurch, Borrisoleigh and Drom and Inch. It was a very enjoyable and well organized event.

Tipperary GAA Draw:  Please support the Tipperary GAA Draw this year. Great prizes to be won again this year from a €500,000 prize fund. Every member that joins through Newport GAA Club is helping to raise funds for the club. The first draw now takes place on Friday June 3rd. Contact any committee member for details.

Tour Lacken Park: Our club grounds in Lacken Park and everything it has to offer are now able to be viewed by anyone around the world on Google Street View Virtual Tours. Thanks to Theo Kennedy, official Google photographer for doing a great job catching Lacken Park looking so well.
