Intermediate Hurlers: Our Intermediates had a hard fought win in Toomevara last Saturday evening when they beat Shannon Rovers 2-16 to 2-08 in the North Semi Final. Well done to the lads who now meet the familiar faces of Ballinahinch in the North Final which is fixed for this Saturday 17th September at 5pm in Dolla.

Under 6: Our U6's and U8's were in action last Saturday morning in Lacken Park. They played Kildangan and Cappamore in three  matches with over 100 children taking part. Well done to all the players and thanks a million to all the parents who came to support their children.

Under 8: The U8's also played Clonlara last Tuesday evening in Clonlara. They played some lovely hurling in their three matches. Thanks to Clonlara for the invitation.

Under 10: The U10's have had a busy two weeks with trips to Dolla and Clonlara for games. On Thursday week last we played Slivermines in a number of competitive and tough games in Dolla. Both teams put in a great effort in wet and sometimes miserable conditions. Thanks to Slivermines for hosting us. On Thursday last we visited Clonlara for a return match against the Clare team. Newport had 24 players on show and everyone put in a fantastic performance in a number of enjoyable games. Everyone was having so much fun we continued into the darkness before the game finished. It was great to visit a team outside of the county and Clonlara were excellent hosts.

Under 12: The U12's played Toomevara in a challenge match before the intermediate game on Saturday evening last. Toomevara proved to be the better side and were convincing winners.

Dog Night Fundraiser: Newport GAA will hold a 'Night at the Dogs' on Sat 8th October in Limerick Greyhound Stadium. Tickets can be bought from members of the committee.
