Féile na nGael: The Club would like to wish the very best of luck to our under 14 hurlers and to Newport/Ballinahinch Camogie Club who are participating in the All Ireland Finals of Féile this weekend. The under 14 hurlers will be playing all of their group matches in Lacken Park on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and would like to invite the people of Newport to come and support the team over the weekend. Full details of the matches are available in the Newport notes section of the Guardian this week and also on Newport GAA Club’s Facebook page. Both clubs would like to sincerely thank all the sponsors of the teams without whose help it would not be possible to host the competition. You can keep up to date on all matches and results on Newport GAA and Newport/Ballinahinch Facebook pages and also on Twitter @feilegaa #Feile2016. Well done also to James Nolan, Chairman of the Juvenile Club, who completed the Cork Half Marathon as a fundraiser for Féile.

Under 12: U12B Newport played Kildangan in Puckane on Friday night last.  They got some good scores and worked hard in defence. They came away with a win and will now play Templederry Kenyons in Newport on Friday week June 24th at 6.30pm.
U12D played Moneygall/Clonakenny on Saturday last in Moneygall. Newport got off to a great start and totally dominated the first half. Moneygall / Clonakenny came into the games in the second half and put Newport under pressure. Newport dug deep and came away with a 1 point win. They will play Nenagh in the next round on Friday June 24th in Newport at 6.30pm.

Under 10: On Thursday last, Na Piarsaigh U10's made the trip to Newport to play an U10 hurling match. A fine crowd turned up to see four very entertaining and competitive matches between two very even teams.  It was great to have the All Ireland Club champions coming to Newport and the Tipp/Limerick rivalry was plain to see but in a very sporting manner. Big thanks to the Na Piarsaigh coaches and players and we look forward to playing them again later in the year in Limerick.

Under 8: The U8's played in a county blitz on Saturday last in Thurles. They played Holycross, Drom-Inch and Éire Óg. They had three wins and the kids were delighted with their performances. Thanks to all who travelled to Thurles.

Lotto: Our Lotto jackpot, €3,700, was won by Aoife Ryan of Murroe last week. This week’s jackpot is €1,100. Get you tickets from any committee member.

County Scene: Hard luck to Christy Connors who was corner back on the Tipperary Junior football team which lost out to Cork prior to the Senior fixture on Sunday last. Best wishes to Pa Ryan and Conor Floyd who are part of the Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Squad who play Limerick this Sunday prior to the senior game.
